Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti is a lodge inside Serengeti National Park, in Tanzania. It has three restaurants, an open-air bar, a wine cellar, an infinity pool and a spa. There is also a fitness room, a kids' club, a games room and a billiards table. The front desk is open around the clock, and Wi-Fi is free in the rooms. The staff speak English, French, Spanish and Swahili.

Location

The lodge stands at Banagi, inside Serengeti National Park. The Seronera airstrip is 27 km away as the crow flies, and the park's visitor center 26 km. The lodge arranges transfers from the airstrip, at extra cost.

Every morning, Coastal Aviation flies from Arusha to the Seronera airstrip, in the center of the park. The flight takes 1 hour 10 minutes, with a stop at Lake Manyara. By road, allow seven to eight hours from Arusha, crossing the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The park gates close at 6 p.m.

Rooms

The rooms are air-conditioned and open onto a balcony or a terrace. Each has a sofa, a desk, a walk-in closet, a flat-screen TV, a minibar and a safe. The private bathroom has a bathtub and a shower, with bathrobes, slippers, a hair dryer and toiletries.

The lodge has family rooms. Some units are wheelchair accessible, but the upper floors can only be reached by stairs. Cribs are free for children up to 6, and an extra bed can be added for ages 11 to 17, at extra cost.

Dining

Breakfast is a buffet, with continental, English and American options. It can also be served in your room. The lodge has three restaurants. Kula's, a restaurant with a view, serves dishes with regional flavors and wines from around the world. The Boma Grill serves an African meal with Maasai dancing.

In the wine cellar, you can try food and wine pairings. At the Maji Bar, you have a drink outdoors, overlooking the infinity pool and the savanna. Children get their own menus, and room service brings meals to your room.

Leisure

The infinity pool is free to use. The spa and its massages cost extra. The lodge also has a hair and beauty salon, a fitness room, a games room and a billiards table. Children have their own club.

Parks and reserves nearby

The lodge is inside the park, so you head out on safari without passing a gate. It runs safaris and guided walks, at extra cost, to be booked in advance. The park also lets you drive a rented 4x4 yourself, with an international driving permit. Hot-air balloon flights take off from Seronera at sunrise.

The Serengeti is home to Africa's largest lion population. Elephants can be seen throughout the park. Cheetahs hunt in broad daylight on the open plains. Depending on the month, the migration herds are in the south, the center or the north of the park.
